Full Height
Full Height
What are they?
Our most popular option, single full height panels cover the whole window. Quite often full height shutters will have a divider rails so you can operate the slats above and below it independently to control the light according to your needs. They can be provided in central tilt, offset tilt and hidden tilt at multi level break which means to the customer that they can have top open or bottom open or vice versa, which provide the end users with different levels of light control and security.
Pros: Great insulation, privacy and noise control
Cons: There aren't any.
Best for: French or patio doors and tall windows but are sufficiently flexible to be adopted to any window.
Tier-on-tier
What are they?
Two sets of panels, one on top of the other that operate independently of each other. This gives openness to the room while still giving a good level of privacy as it removes all covering from the top section of the window, providing openness and airiness to any room. As with the full height, these can also be provided with central tilt, offset tilt and hidden tilt options and for added stability, can be provided with a horizontal mid rail at the breakpoint.
Pros: Extremely versatile, giving excellent privacy and light control
Cons: Not suitable for all windows as they can look too busy.
Best for: Bedrooms, bathrooms and dining rooms.
Versatile
What are they?
Shutters are avalable in four basic slat widths 47mm, 63mm, 76mm and 89mm, however there is a larger option of 114mm, which would not be a standard width. There are quite a few frame styles to choose from with either different framing options or recessed clean line options. All these can be provided with single hang bio-folds or multi-fold doors in either full height or tier on tier. There is also the option of a tracked shutter which can be used on the larger windows where multifold or weight is a problem.
Pros: Ideal for those oddly shaped windows were nothing else can be done
Cons: As with all shutters, home visit is required.
Best for: Oddly shaped windows or areas that other coverings don't fit.
Solid
What are they?
Solid wood panels that cover the window entirely
Pros: Very insulating and give a traditional cosy look.
Cons: Less flexible - they're either open or closed.
Best for: Bedrooms, draughty period properties.
